Bartley, Wanda Lea, 95, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026, in Springfield, Ohio at Wooded Glen. She was born Wanda Lea Tolle on May 22, 1931, in Sinking Spring, Ohio to Raymond and Josephine (Marr) Tolle. Wanda graduated from Springfield High School in June of 1949. She married Elza Bartley, Jr. September 22, 1951, in Springfield and they were married 70 years. Wanda raised a family of four, including two daughters and two sons. Survivors include three children, Phillip and Trudy (Fitzpatrick) Bartley of Washington Court House, Ohio, Perry and Deloris (Gates) Bartley of Long Beach, Mississippi and Penny (Bartley) and Jerry Butts of Dayton, Ohio; son-in-law, Larry Scarberry of Pensacola, Florida; three grandchildren, Scott and Heather Bartley of Hillsboro, Ohio, Nicholas Bartley of Columbus, Ohio and Elizabeth and Bill Angley of Long Beach, Mississippi; five great-grandchildren, Christian and Justice Bartley, Deanna, Micheal, Angley, Colten and Cameron Bartley; two brothers, James and Joyce Tolle of Springfield and Bill and Ruth Tolle of Dracula, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Peggy Hupp and Sharon McLean. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elza Bartley, Jr. “Junior” December 18, 2021, her parents, daughter, Pamela Kae Scarberry and sister, Mary Whited. Wanda worked as a homemaker and worked at Sears in Greenfield, Ohio until she and Junior bought and ran the Goody Shop Restaurant in Washington Court House from 1971 until it closed in 1978. They went on to operate The White Cottage Restaurant in New Holland, Ohio, then their journey took them back to Springfield where they went to work for Levine Realty managing an apartment complex for 18 years before retiring in 2011. Wanda and Junior were highly active in their church making many trips to foreign countries to help build churches and schools. They went to Argentina in 1996, Zambia, Africa in 1999, where they had stopovers at Victoria Falls and Great Britain. They took numerous trips with family and friends to the Caribbean, the islands of Hawaii, Cancun, Mexico, Florida and many church camps throughout the Midwest. Wanda and Junior were longtime members of Northside Church of God, 3705 Middle Urbana Road in Springfield. Her service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at CONROY FUNERAL HOME, 1660 E. High Street in Springfield with Pastor Gene Kelly officiating. Friends may call two hours prior, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Asbury Chapel Cemetery, 8051 Jones Road in South Vienna, Ohio. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Wooded Glen and all the nurses at Care 360 for providing great care and comfort to their mother.
