PROSSER, Thomas M., 80, of Springfield, passed away June 30, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born January 17, 1933 in Springfield the son of John E. and Virgie (Metz) Prosser. He graduated from New Moorefield in 1951 and later worked as a certified mechanic for Springfield Country Club for 22 years. Tom was a former member of Lagonda United Methodist for 76 years and a current member of Faith United Church, a member of Eagles #397, Ford V-8 Club of America, the N.S.R.A and a United States Navy Veteran. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Betty (Longo); one son and daughter-in-law, John Prosser (Janey Horvath), Springfield; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy (Perry) DeWitt, San Diego and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He leaves behind his two cats, Baby and George and a Border Collie, Dan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Mullinix officiating.
