Sheila Jean Whiteford

WHITEFORD, Sheila Jean Voorhees, 66, of Culloden, WV and formerly of Springfield, OH passed away on May 28, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV. She was born on February 4, 1960, to the late Harold A. and Marjorie L. Anstine Voorhees in Springfield, OH. Sheila was a graduate of Springfield South High School and attended Mt. Vernon Nazarene University and Clark State College. She was formerly employed by Springfield Public Library and their Book Mobile as well as Kidzlink Daycare at Memorial Hospital and Honda in Marysville, OH. Her home church was at Springfield’s High Street Church of the Nazarene, and once married she was alongside Paul as he pastored churches in Marysville, OH, IN, CA and together with their current assignment church at Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene in Hurricane, WV. Sheila is survived by her husband of 35 years, Rev. Paul Anthony Whiteford; son, Paul Anthony Whiteford Jr.; daughters: Emily (Tyler) Hahn of Milton, WV and Hannah Whiteford of San Diego, CA; grandchildren: Alaina Love and Paisley Hahn of Milton, WV; sister, Carolyn (Rev. David) Glauner of Washington Courthouse, OH; and brothers: Dene (Rhonda) Voorhees, Harold Voorhees, and James (Wendy) Voorhees all of Springfield, OH; as well as other family members and friends. Local Funeral Service for Sheila will be 1:00pm Wednesday June 3, 2026, at Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene located at 358 US Highway 60 Culloden, WV 25510 with Rev. Brett Layton and Rev. Scott Buell officiating. Friends may visit the family from 11:00am until 1:00pm. As well as a Funeral Service in Ohio which will be 1:00pm Thursday June 4, 2026, at Maplewood Church of the Nazarene located at 110 Longview Street Springfield, OH 45505 with Rev. James Jenkerson and Pastor Joe Case officiating. Friends may visit the family from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the church.
