WONES, Sally, of Springfield, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, at Kettering Health Dayton, surrounded by the deep love of her family. In her final moments, she was held close, comforted, and sung to as she took her last breaths, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. It was a moment filled with grace, love, and a gentle goodbye. Sally was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by selflessness, compassion, and an unwavering love for her family. She had a way of always putting others before herself, offering kindness, strength, and comfort to everyone around her. Her heart was as big as her spirit, and her presence made people feel safe, loved, and cared for. Those who knew Sally will remember her for her warmth, her gentle soul, and the way she made everyone feel like family. Her legacy is one of love, generosity, and quiet strength. Sally is survived by her loving son, Christopher (Kristen) Wones; her brother, Horace (Sharon Leasure) Wones; nephew, Dale Wones; her sister-in-law, Beverly Wones; and her cherished grandchildren, Madison (Michael) Rice, Dillan Wones, Bransin Wones, Elijah Hutson, Zachary Hutson, and Gabriel Hutson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marywinona Evans Boyer; her father, Walter Wones; sister, Myfvonwy Wones; her nephew, Jason Jesse Wones; and her brother, Oscar “Butch” Wones. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heather Fogle, Jackee, Ozzy, Kinda, Tara, and Betty at Shelby Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, VITAS Hospice, the staff at Kettering Health Dayton for the care, comfort, and support provided to Sally and her family during this time. Sally leaves behind a family who loved her beyond words and who will carry her love in their hearts every day. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
