Mullen, Ryan Matthew It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Ryan Matthew Mullen, age 20, on July 19, 2026. Ryan was born on January 14, 2006. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in the Class of 2024. After graduation he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue his dream of a career in music. In 2024, he proudly released his first EP, a milestone that reflected his creativity, determination, and unwavering commitment to his dream. Music was more than a passion for Ryan, it was how he expressed himself. Beyond music, he enjoyed staying active through fitness, fine dining, spending time with friends, and taking peaceful walks in nature. He found joy in life’s simple moments and treasured time spent with the people he loved. Ryan possessed a gentle spirit, a compassionate heart, and a selfless soul. He deeply valued genuine relationships and cared sincerely for the people in his life. If Ryan saw someone struggling, he was the first to offer a helping hand, never expecting anything in return. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, valued, and accepted just as they were. He met others with kindness, empathy, and understanding, and those fortunate enough to know him were blessed with a loyal friend for life. Ryan is survived by his loving parents, Matt and Susan Mullen; his beloved sister, Mallory Mullen; his grandfather, Bill “Moo Moo” Groeber; his grandmother, Chris “Ninny” Mullen; his uncles, Pete Mullen and Chris Groeber; his aunts, Jenny Groeber and Amy Groeber; his cousin, Cassandra Mullen; and many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his cherished grandmother, Carol “GG” Groeber, and his grandfather, Pete “Pop” Mullen. Although his time with those who loved him was far too short, the love he gave, the music he created, and the memories shared with him will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday July 27th at CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday July 28th at St. Teresa Church. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Ryan’s memory by making a donation to Catholic Central designating Ryan Mullen Music Fund. Contributions will help provide opportunities for aspiring student musicians, allowing Ryan’s love of music to live on and inspire others.
