Roger F. Young

YOUNG, Roger F., 77, of Cedarville, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born March 1, 1941 in Springfield the son of Fred G. and Mary O. (Spriggs) Young. Roger was a certified welder and truck driver working for several companies over the years including Robbins & Myers, Cascade Corp., Shoemaker Ford, Reiter Dairy, Hogan Trucking and eventually was a self-employed truck driver. In his spare time he enjoyed restoring antiques, was a past member of Lion's Club, a volunteer on the South Solon Fire Department and was a little league coach. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances (Spence); one son and spouse, Doug & Brenda Young, London, OH; two grandsons, Kyle and Christopher; two sisters, Mary Ann Murray and Barbara (Dallas) Foster and several nieces and nephews; He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a brother, Mike. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
