Robert L. Rush

RUSH, Robert L., 95, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in Oakwood Village. He was born December 25, 1917 in Springfield the son of Harry E. and Bessie (Craft) Rush. He retired February 1, 1981 after 43 years of service as the general plant superintendent of Holophane Company, Springfield, OH, a division of Manville Corporation. He was a member of the 25 Year Club of the Holophane Company in Newark, OH and a member of the Urbana United Methodist Church. He is survived by two daughters and spouses, Sandra & Max Kentner and Carol & Bill Groeber, both of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Beth (Mark) Kohl, Windermere, FL, Tricia (Winston) Breeden, Matt (Liz) Kentner, Chagrin Falls, OH, Chris (Amy) Groeber, Yellow Springs, OH, Amy Groeber, Hilton Head, SC, Jennifer (John) Emerich and Susan (Matt) Mullen, Springfield, OH; 11 great grandchildren, Nathan and Brandon Kohl, Winston, Macy and Lyla Breeden, Wilson Kentner, Sabrina, Kayla and Alyssa Groeber and Mallory and Ryan Mullen and several dear nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Edna M. (Wilson) on June 1, 2008, their 68th wedding anniversary, an infant son, Thomas Michael, his parents, three brothers, William Frederick, Edward and Harold "Max" and four sisters, Winnie Sikes Harris, Erma Rakestraw Fetzner and Roberta Hughel and Betty Grimm. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Paul Jones officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. The family extends their appreciation to the staff of Glaesner Health Center and Dr. To for their care and compassion during the past five years and to Community Mercy Hospice.
