Robert E. Wolbert

WOLBERT, Robert E., Sr., 98, of Springfield, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 in Grand Court. He was born January 30, 1915 in Urbana, Ohio the son of George and Stephanie (Bouchard) Wolbert. Bob was a lifelong resident of Springfield and worked his entire life as a meat cutter for Pulver's Meat Market, Lutterel's in Yellow Springs and was an owner of Clauer Bros. Market at 966 Lagonda Ave. which was later renamed Par Food Market. He enjoyed wildlife, hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He was active in Springfield Homing Pigeon Assoc. His grandchildren loved to hear stories of his life. He was proud of all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren for their accomplishments. Bob was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife Mary Ellen (Heeg); children and spouses, Robert Jr. (Shirley) Wolbert, Joseph (Monica) Wolbert, Susan (Robert) Downey and Patricia (Nick) Steiner; grandchildren, Michael and Larry Richard Wolbert, Paul and Phillip (Anke) Wolbert, Jonathan (Lori) Downey, Teresa (Aaron) Martini, Brian and Emily Steiner; great grandchildren, Josh Wolbert, Morgan, Logan, Reagan Downey, Ella Martini and Henry Wolbert; good friend and neighbor, Mark Younquist and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George Jr., Paul and Richard; sister, Ann Holly and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, friends and neighbors. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Grand Court, Miami Valley Hospice and Dr. To for all their care and devotion. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Miami Valley Hospice or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
