Rebecca Lynne Ingalls

Ingalls (Smith), Rebecca Lynne, 84, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026, at her home, with family by her side. Born April 1, 1942, in Springfield, Ohio, Rebecca was the daughter of Dennis and Margaret (Fearn) Smith. She graduated from Catholic Central High School and retired from Community Hospital after 20 years of service. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" (Chris) Ingalls Broussard; her beloved grandchildren, Brandon (Chelsey) Ingalls, Patricia (Joe) Ingalls, and Lauren (Sam) Broussard; her great-grandchildren, Skyla Curry, Brianne Curry, and Boone Ingalls; her beloved niece and devoted caretaker, Anne Catanzaro; her great-nephew, Nicholas King; her siblings, Tim (Marilyn) Smith, Evelyn (Mike) Tucker, and Diane (Robert) Howard; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Brian Ingalls; and her siblings, Nancy Aleshire, Charlie Smith, Paul Smith, and Joe Smith. Rebecca will be remembered for her spirited personality, love of dancing - especially the jitterbug - and enjoyment of crime and mystery novels. She will be deeply missed. A gathering of friends and family will be held Tuesday, August 4, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Memorial contributions may be made to Cherish Hospice, Springfield, Ohio, in Rebecca’s memory.
