Peter L. Denton

Denton, Peter L., 68, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025, in his home. Peter was born on April 30, 1957, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of John L. and Marguerite (Layden) Denton. He grew up in Elkhart, Indiana and was a graduate of Ohio University, later receiving his master’s degree from Urbana University. He spent the majority of his career as a design engineer for Navistar in Springfield and Chicago. In addition to his mother, he is survived by three children, Nathaniel, and his mother, Julie; Caroline, Charles, and their mother, Amanda; and two siblings, Leslie (Pete) Farquhar and Michael (Pamela) Denton. A private service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the teams at DaVita and the Springfield Cancer Center for their kind and exceptional care.
