Patricia Ann Taylor

Madison, AL

Madison, AL – Patricia Ann (née Flanigan) Taylor, 88, of Madison, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026. She was born May 10, 1938, in Springfield, Ohio, the eldest daughter of the late John R. and Jane (née Kunk) Flanigan. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Constance E. Sample, and granddaughter, MacKenzie Taylor.

A devoted wife and mother, Pat is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Paul Anthony Taylor Sr.; four children: Paul Taylor Jr. (Mary-Iris); Perry Taylor (Trish); Paige Taylor; and Patrice O’Donnell (John); her precious grandchildren Erin, Kelly, Bret, Zachary, Audrey, Madeleine, Trey, Wyatt, Peyton, Brooke, Brynn, Shane, Emmerson; sister Kathy Hatfield (Richard) of Springfield, OH; brother John R. Flanigan (Barbara) of Columbus, OH; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.

A lifelong and faithful Catholic, Pat attended St. Raphael Grade School and graduated at Springfield’s Central Catholic High School in 1956. She received a teaching certificate from the University of Dayton in 1958 and returned to teach fourth and sixth grades at St. Raphael Grade School, where she later married Paul on June 25, 1960.

Her happy marriage included many moves over the years—to Virginia, Washington, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, the Netherlands, Pennsylvania, and Florida—before returning to Medina, Ohio, where Pat and Paul resided for 22 years. They eventually made the move to Alabama to be closer to family.

Pat loved history, antiques, shopping, and, most of all, people. She never knew a stranger and genuinely loved meeting people wherever life took her. She cherished the many friendships she made throughout her life and welcomed old friends and new acquaintances alike with open arms. Everyone that knew her was sure to get a card or gift to prove her caring nature.

Above all, she treasured her family, and they were the source of her greatest joy and pride. She kept her family dutifully informed of all the goings-on across her friends and family and loved to hear about and share everybody’s life experiences. She will be deeply missed.

A funeral mass will be held on a later date at the Most Merciful Jesus Catholic Church in Madison, AL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
