Nancy J. Whitacre

Whitacre, Nancy J., 83, of Springfield, passed away on January 24, 2019 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. Nancy was born on May 12, 1935 in Springfield, the daughter of Albert and Nina (Thompson) Bauer. She worked for the Holiday Inn for many years and later worked as a Secretary and Switchboard Operator for the Springfield City Schools. Nancy was also a member of the North Hills Church of God. Survivors include her husband, Larry E. "Pete" Whitacre; three children, Mitzi (Larry) Roeker of Springfield, Tim (Kimberly) Whitacre of Chillicothe and Linda (Mark) Ashcraft of Springfield; eight grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gus Bauer. Her funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Alan Cain officiating. Visitation will be held one and a half hours prior, starting at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Springfield Fire and Rescue Paramedic Fund.
