SEYMOUR, Molly, age 99, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2025. A native of El Paso, Texas, Molly was born on July 10, 1926, the daughter of Castulo and Ester Martinez. She was a graduate of the Sisters of Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans, Louisiana, and later completed her anesthesia training at The Ohio State University School of Nurse Anesthesia in Columbus, Ohio. Molly dedicated over 40 years of her life as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Community Hospital in Springfield, retiring in 1990. She was a long-time member of Saint Teresa Catholic Church and a devoted volunteer and supporter of the Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store. Molly is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Christopher Lizza; son and daughter-in-law, John Seymour and Sally Bissell-Seymour; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Susan Seymour; and daughter and son-in-law, Sally Seymour and Terry Dunlap. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew, Eric, Bryan (Helen), David, Meredith (Chris), and Lucas; her great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Theo Lizza; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Seymour; her sisters, Celia Rubio and Concepcion Rosas; and her brothers, Frank Martinez and Lorenzo Martinez—all of El Paso, Texas—as well as many dear relatives and friends. The family also wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers who shared their lives with Molly over the past five years—especially Missy, Kandi, Sara, Marlene, Sylvia, Rebecca, and Olivia. Your dedication and compassion made it possible for Molly to remain in her home, surrounded by love, dignity, and peace. We are forever in your debt. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Molly Seymour Endowed Scholarship for Nurse Anesthesia Students at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Donations can be made online at: https://tinyurl.com/Molly-Seymour-Scholarship or call 757-683-3090 for assistance with a donation. Arrangements by CONROY FUNEAL HOME.
