KOOS, Marlee Phyllis, 74, of South Vienna, went home to the Lord on Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. Marlee was born October 21, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Paul and Helen (Mozdziak) Theret. She was a graduate of Mt. Vernon Hospital School of Nursing in New York and went on to serve as a RN both in Georgia and 33 years as an RN at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, where she worked on the post-op open heart floor and was instrumental in bringing on the EPIC computer system that is now being used across multiple hospital systems. Marlee was also a member of St. Raphael Church and Choir in Springfield. As an active member of the Woman's Town Club, she was an avid bridge and mahjongg player. Along with her husband, Marlee was a member of the Collie Club of America and the Miami Valley Collie Club as both a breeder and owner of multiple Collies. Her hobbies included casino gambling, reading, shopping, collecting "treasures," traveling and spending time with her family and dogs. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joseph, Jr.; two children, Jennifer (Robert) Kollins and Joseph (Paige) Koos, III; five grandchildren, Kelsie Kollins, Kiersten Kollins, Katie (Andrew) Detwiler, Makennah Koos and Brenden Koos; five brothers, Terry (Colleen) Theret, Gerald (Kathy) Theret, Michael (Carolyn) Theret, Jamie (Lisa) Theret and Joseph (Joan) Theret; one sister, Paulette (John Passineau) Theret; brother-in-law, Gerald (Tish) Koos; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Charles Zbrzezny; and niece, Carrie Theret. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Raphael Church.
