Marjorie Anna Ballentine

Ballentine, Marjorie Anna, 91, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 in Bridge Hospice at the Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, Ohio. Marjorie was born November 21, 1926 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to Frank and Emily (Dupont) Roycraft. She married Robert Ballentine on May 22, 1948 in Springfield, Ohio. To this union, were born two daughters, Cheryl Mace of Findlay, Ohio and Pamela Ballentine, deceased. She is also survived by two grandsons, Jim and Tom Mace and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, daughter, Pam, infant granddaughter, Marcia, son-in-law, David Mace, brothers, Alvin, Duane, Glen and sister, Loraine. Marjorie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was active in Adult Sunday School, teaching Bible School and Sunday School and served on the church's Altar Guild. She was a member of the Springfield Town Club where she enjoyed playing Bridge with friends and served in many capacities including president. She was also a member of the Elks, Springfield Young Women's Mission and other organizations. She taught fourth grade at Enon Elementary and Indian Valley, was a reading specialist at Hustead Elementary and later worked in the Clark County Education Office as a curriculum supervisor. She was a world traveler having traveled to all 50 states, 17 countries and several islands in the Caribbean. However, Florida was her favorite spot. She loved the sun. Her funeral service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church on Friday at 10:30 a.m. There will be a one hour viewing prior to the service. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 27 N. Wittenberg Avenue, Springfield, Ohio 45502 or Bridge Hospice Care Center, 15100 Birchhaven Lane, Findlay, Ohio 45840.
