Maria J. Luster

LUSTER, Maria J. “Sue”, 78, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.  She was born May 9, 1944 in La Junta, Colorado the daughter of Atilano and Lucinda (Lucero) Montoya.  Maria spent her life caring for the elderly which was her passion.  Survivors include her three daughters, Sue (Glenn) Schwamberger, Marion, Ohio, Betty (Dick) Richards, Marion, Ohio and Carla Luster, Springfield, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Jimmy (Angie) Yates, Jaime Yates, Hayleigh Mollett, Rocky (Summer) Ratliff, AJ (Mindy) Sentieri, Kim (Jim) Weatherhead, Jeff (Kelly) Ratliff, Amber (Mike) Kile, Shelly (Ken) Dason and David Richards; 26 great grandchildren, Linda, Michael, Daisy, Ja’Dyn, Ja’Niyah and Waylon Yates, Rylee and London Ratliff, Kile and Kami Sentieri, Jackson, Dylan, Beckett and Parker Weatherhead, Mike, Tyler (Samantha) and Kayla McCoy, Addison and Westin Kile, Courtney (Mike) Barnett, Caitlin (Joe) Thompson and Chase Richards-Siepel; ten great great grandchildren; 3 siblings, Tillie Martinez, Manuel (Eleanor) Montoya and Albert Montoya and several nieces and nephews.  Also surviving is her best friend, Lily King with whom she spent many happy hours together getting into mischief.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl in 1985, a son Michael Luster and a grandson, Michael Yates and several brothers and sisters.   Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 8, 2022 in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME.  Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home.  Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
