Margaret A. Martin

Martin, Margaret A. "Meg", 94, of Springfield, OH passed away on August 1, 2013 in her residence. She was born on February 9, 1919 in Springfield, OH to Theodore and Donata (Ricci) Angelo. Margaret was a homemaker, a 1937 graduate of Catholic Central High School, a member of the Legion of Mary, the past President of the Altar-Rosary Sodality, and a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Anne (James) Gibbs, Catherine (Robert) Shumate and Anne (Albert) Woyat: 8 grandchildren, James F. Gibbs, Rita (Michael) Shaffer, Mary E. (Dave) Collins, Christina (Frank) Mundy, Mary C. (Brian) Taylor, Charles (Leslie) Woyat, Paul (Jennifer) Woyat and Sarah (Jacob) Gillis; 15 great-grandchildren, Calvin Collins, Dora Grace Henry, Paul Shaffer, Hunter, R.J. and Paige Mundy, Catelyn and Andrew Taylor, Edward and Kaeleigh Woyat, Benjamin, Eli and Lucas Woyat, Daniel and Nathan Gillis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome A. Martin in 2007; seven sisters and their spouses, Mary (Louis) Valentie, Barbara (Mac) Cocca, Antoinette (William) Garrity, Suzanne (Pearl) Coy, Rose (Adam) Gillotti, Florence (Jerome) Groeber and Julia (Richard) DeWitt; and one brother and spouse, Theodore (Virginia) Angelo. Friends may call in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Church or Catholic Central Annual Fund.
