Keith Bernard Jochum

Keith B. Jochum, 59, of Springfield passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 1, 2013 following a courageous battle with melanoma cancer. He was born in Glencoe, MN on August 8th 1953, the son of Bernard and Catherine Jochum. He received a bachelor of science in physics from the University of Minnesota, bachelor and masters of aeronautical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and an M.B.A. from Wright State University. He retired from the Air Force in 1998, after which he worked as a program manager at Wright Patterson AFB. Keith is survived by his wife Mary Elizabeth (Walsh) Jochum whom he married on August 13th, 1988; four children: Cait, Caroline, Joseph, and Ellen Jochum of Springfield; mother, siblings: Ann Sheedy, Martha (Greg) Grandits, Liz Johnson, Peggy (Thang) Phan, Tony Jochum, Mark (Michelle) Jochum all of Minnesota, Bernie (Colleen) Jochum of Pennsylvania; in-laws: Tom and Janis Walsh, Peg Carlson, Patti and Mark Hannahan, Dick and Pam Walsh, John Walsh; several cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as dear friends: Jimmy, June, and Steve Myers. He is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Clare Jochum, father, mother-in-law Mary Louise Walsh and father-in-law Joseph C. Walsh, and brothers-in-laws: George Sheedy and Denny Carlson. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday at CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday in St. Teresa Catholic Church.
