Kathy A. Wilt

WILT, Kathy Ann, with great sadness, we announce the passing of Kathy Ann Wilt on September 3, 2026, at age 82, following a years-long battle with heart and kidney disease. Kathy was born on March 27, 1944, in Bremen, Ohio, to Raymond and Mildred (née Blosser) Stoner.

Kathy met Glen Charles Wilt, the love of her life and beloved husband of 62 years, and together they raised two children, Kara Michele and Jason Aaron. She and Glen were longtime members of Oakland Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Ohio. Kathy was a talented seamstress and homemaker who generously shared her creativity through dressmaking, flower arranging, and quilting. While her children were in college, she sold quilts to a local Amish gift shop for extra income. Later, she managed a local bridal store with her good friend Donna and worked as a seamstress for a local interior designer, spending countless hours turning beautiful sketches into reality. She was also like a second mother to many of Kara and Jason’s friends, offering a safe place, a listening ear, a hug, and advice when needed. An avid cook and baker, Kathy loved reading cookbooks and preparing award-winning dishes for the Madison and Clark County fairs, often competing with Kara for bragging rights over who earned the most blue ribbons.

Kathy also loved the ocean and traveling. For many years, the Outer Banks of North Carolina became a cherished home away from home until she was no longer physically able to travel. She and Glen also enjoyed several riverboat cruises with her aunt and uncle, exploring stops along the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. She was preceded in death by her mother & father, brother, Ronald Stoner; son, Jason Wilt and a niece, Kathleen Wallace. Survivors include her husband, Glen; Daughter, Kara (Mike) Francis; 2 grandchildren, John Francis and Charles Francis, Sister-in-law, Constance Stoner, Aunt Linda Craig and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to the medical team who provided care and support over the past few years, including Dr. Varghese, Stephanie, Julie, and the many nurses and home health professionals who helped Kathy remain at home with Glen and Kara. The family is also grateful to her dear friend, Jane Waite. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 11 in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 10 to 11 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriner's Hospital.
