Karen Smith

SMITH, Karen A., 78, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026, in Allen View Healthcare Center. She was born July 13, 1948, in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Richard and Mary Jane (Dodson) Jacobs. Karen worked an as R.N. for Community Hospital for 21 1/2 years and Southbrook Care Center for 17 ½ years. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. Survivors include her three children, Bryan & Brenda Smith and Patricia “Trish” Spencer; grandchildren, Jenna & Korbin Nickoson, Paige & Tristen Smith, Joshua Spencer, Taylor Spencer, Gracie & Joel McDargh, Sarah Spencer, Erin and Tyler Moore and Patrick McKee; great grandchildren, Hudson, Waylon and Aubrie Smith, Karoline and Kennedy Nickoson, Finn and Ellis McDargh and Zelda Moore; siblings, Tom & Nancy Jacobs and Rick Jacobs and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bill Jacobs. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 20, 2026, in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, August 21, 2026, in St. Raphael Catholic Church. Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in St. Bernard Cemetery.
