John F. Wright

Wright, John F., 89, of Springfield, passed away May 23, 2013 in Oakwood Village. He was born on February 24, 1924 in Greene County, OH to Fred and Ruth (Linson) Wright. He retired as an Assistant Training Director for Bonded Oil Co. after 30 years. John was a member of Central Christian Church, H.S. Kissell Lodge 674 F&AM, and Antioch Shrine. He also served in the United States Army during WWII in the 182nd Station Hospital. Survivors include one daughter and special son-in-law, Carol (Roger) Stambaugh of Springfield; two grandchildren, Jennifer Hennig and Kathy (Dan) Thornsberry, both of Springfield; four great grandchildren, Justin and Joseph Hennig and Andrew and Sara Thornsberry; five siblings, Carolyn Leath of Huntsville, TN, Grace Tyree of Springfield, Kenneth Wright of New Carlisle, Robert Wright of Springfield, and James Wright of Enon; numerous nieces and nephews and three granddogs, Daisy, Rosie and Jasmine. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 60 years, Betty in 2009 and four siblings, William, Sr., Dan, Mary and Phyllis. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Oakwood Village Glaesner Health Center and Dr. To for their love and special care. A masonic service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME, followed by his funeral service with Pastor Warren Banks officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior, beginning at 12 noon. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Central Christian Church or the Red Cross.
