Meeks, Jerry A., 75 of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. He was born in Springfield on August 4, 1950 the son of Roger Meeks and Irene (Carpenter) Meeks Picolo. Jerry was a retired Machinist from Crane Pump and Systems in Piqua. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He found great enjoyment in staying active, often attending local clubs for sign-ups or mowing his lawn. He also loved vacationing in Florida, soaking in the sunshine, playing Skee-ball or baseball pro at the arcade and spending weekends camping. Jerry was also an avid bowler. In his quieter moments, he found a deep connection with his beloved cat, Tiger, who became not just a pet but a loyal companion and best friend. More than anything, he cherished time with his family. He treasured time spent with his loved ones and built meaningful, lasting connections. He shared a special bond with his grandson, Ozzy, a relationship filled with love, laughter and unforgettable moments that will be treasured forever. Survivors include his two sons, Jason (Anita) Meeks and Jerry Meeks; two stepdaughters, Stacy (Andy) Lippencott and Angela Tilley; seven grandchildren, Kaleb, Austin, Justin, Seth, Abbey, Ashlynn and Alyssa; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Dick Meeks; brother-in-law, Bill Propst and special friends, Jim Pierce and Ron McWilliams. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Irene; wife, Barbara and son, Steve. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of life and the way he made others feel welcome and valued. He brought so much joy to everyday moments. His presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
