Jerri Ann Wright

WRIGHT, Jerri Ann (Canter), 83, of Urbana, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 in her home surrounded by her beloved pets and loved ones. Jerri was born August 22, 1941, in Harmony, Ohio, the daughter of Vernon and Elizabeth (Flanigan) Canter. Jerri was a 1959 graduate of Catholic Central High School.  Jerri wore many hats as Barbara (sister) would like to say. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, grandmother (Mamaw), great grandmother, co-worker, neighbor and friend. But the role she embodied the most was that of Mom. Survivors include her three children, Erin, Jason & BethAnn; four grandchildren, Ryan, McKenzie, Caleb & Paige; five great-grandchildren, Ty, Dean, Crosby, Claire and Griffin; nephews, Mark and Shawn. Jerri was very spirited, courageous and determined. When she put her mind to something, she accomplished it. Jerri had an innate disposition to always help someone in need. Even when she herself may have needed the assistance, she would often be right there to give a helping hand.  One of Jerri’s great joys was watching her grandchildren’s sporting events. From watching Ryan (grandson) play football in high school to attending any and all of McKenzie’s (granddaughter) horseshows. Her and Barbara (sister) would always be there rain or shine to cheer McKenzie on. Horses and animals in general were always something Jerri was very passionate about. Jerri enjoyed broadening her knowledge base to enhance her understanding of things she didn’t know. She thrived on learning new things. She enjoyed deepening her understanding of the Bible with her Bible study group. She spoke of it often. The last few years Jerri has attended Life Net Fellowship & Renewed Strength Church along with the Senior Citizen Center. Jerri loved a good cup of coffee and conversation. She also took pleasure in riding horses, playing pool and playing Euchre and Uno. Jerri led a full and vigorous life and leaves behind a spunkiness that is contagious and makes you laugh.  Memorial contributions may be made to Renewed Strength Church in Memory of Jerri Ann Wright, P.O.
