James P. Mooney

Mooney, James P., 93, of Hudson, Florida and formerly of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018. He was born November 27, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Patrick James and Margaret (Maloney) Mooney. He retired from Robbins and Myers in 1983 after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Hudson, Florida and a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served his country with the U.S. Navy in World War II. Survivors include two children, Donna Jean Mooney and Robert J. (Arleta) Mooney; two sisters, Helen Mooney and Patty (Russ) Pamer and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna and seven siblings, Margaret Kennedy, Mary Oster, Dorothy Johnson, Rita Wyen, Jack, Bill and Eddie Mooney. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors. Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
