GNAU, James F., 74, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013. He was born May 1, 1939 in Springfield the son of John and Martha (Fahey) Gnau. James worked as a metallurgical technician at International Harvester for 47 years retiring in 2004. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. The joy of his life was his family, which include a daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Lewis; seven sons, Matt (Teresa), Terry (Crystal), Nick, Michael (Lori), Kenneth, Pat (Kristy) and Josh Gnau; ten grandchildren, Ben, Hannah, Zachary, Daniel, Kara, Lauren, Timothy, Meagan, Xavier and Colby James; six sisters, Joan (Phil) Shroyer, Rita Robinson, Barb (Frank) Wall, Marilyn (Tom) Aldridge, Monica Porter and Angela (Phil) Thompson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lois in 2008, a son, Brian in 1975, two brothers, Terry and Robert and a daughter-in-law, Michelle. Friends may call in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
