Ivan "Panda" Powell

Powell, Ivan "Panda", 63 of Springfield, left this world on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. He was born on May 9, 1957 the son of the late Maggie K. and Hosea Powell. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mae Portis-Powell, Emma Johnson-Powell and Barbara Robinson and his brothers, Ira Powell (his twin), Hosea Powell, Fred Powell, Sr., Jimmy Powell and George Powell. He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly "Susie" Powell; son "the light of his life", Brooks Allen Powell; nephew/bonus son, Jordan Powell; three brothers, William and Robert Powell and Richard Phillips; special brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Dianne Little; a host of nieces and nephews and many special friends that include, Kenny Pigg, Ricky Bibbs, Brett Woods, Cole Barker, Steve Ware, Terry "T Rob" Roberts, Joie Cave and Dee Craycraft. A very special thanks to Jennifer Powell. Panda loved to fish, have fish fry's, play poker, garage sailing, antiquing, watching wrestling and westerns and spending time with his family and friends. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in New Life in Christ Church, 1100 Sunset Avenue. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
