Mitchell, Frederick James, 85, of Springfield, OH died May 27, 2013 in his residence. He was born October 27, 1927 in Dayton, OH to Frederick and Florence (Greirson) Mitchell. Fred owned his own business, with his wife Joanne, a blue printing company for over 50 years, and served as a U.S. Navy Medic during WWII. He enjoyed many hours of fishing with his wife and loved the outdoors, but the most important part of his life was his family. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be deeply missed. Survivors include three daughters, Susan (Bob) Barker, Brandon, FL, Sandra (Stephen) Pellin, Springfield, and Kathleen (Mark) Eaton, Springfield; seven grandchildren, Rowena (Pete) Noriega, Kenneth and James (Krystal) Mitchell and Jennifer (George) Morlet, CA, Angel (Josh) Collins, FL, Nicole (Ryan) Halloran, Springboro, OH, Kristine Eaton, Springfield; nine great grandchildren; and two sisters, Eleanor Bell and Phyllis (Floyd) Bielefeld. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne L. in 2012, a son Michael, a sister Louinne and a brother, Phillip. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Kevin Mays officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
