Tarlton, Donald E., 97 of Springfield, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Forest Glen Health Campus. He was born in Springfield on February 29, 1928, the son of Harry and Mildred (Steed) Tarlton. He was a retired Truck Driver from J.B. Hunt. His love for reading led him to become the Bookmobile Driver for the Clark County Public Library for several years. He was an avid Lego builder and during his retirement built hundreds of kits. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and very proud of the time he served and the places he was able to see. Survivors include his three daughters, Sue Cutlip, Bobbi Kaiser (John Rogers) and Joyce Sabin; 11 grandchildren, Kristie Larason, Brian (Ginette) Cutlip, Rob Cutlip, Angie McKenzie, Brad Conley, Jillian (Bill) Purtee, Peter (Tracey) Conley, Jeremy (Sherel) Sabin, Jason (Serena) Sabin, Jake (Nickole) Sabin and Jared (Krista) Sabin and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Betty Tarlton; granddaughter, Cindy Cutlip; great granddaughter, Isabelle Conley and brother, Robert Tarlton. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held one hour prior, beginning at 10:00 a.m. A private burial will be held at a later date at Dayton National Cemetery.
