Dale Bury

BURY, Dale, 85, of Springfield, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born February 23, 1933 in Wellington, IL the son of Russell and Ruth (Decker) Bury. Dale was the Vice President of the farm management company, J. Sawyer Co. for over 35 years, retiring in 2000. He also was the proud owner of Cunningham and Greenawalt farms. He was a graduate of The University of Illinois and a United States Army veteran serving from 1955 to 1957. Dale was known for his quick wit and generosity. He had a nickname for everyone. Survivors include his wife, Janet; five children and spouses, Beth & Tony Grauman, Alan & Sue Bury, Dana Fulk, Dona & Andy Behr and Patrick & Melissa Bury; 13 grandchildren, Olivia, Abby, David, Alex, Michael, Lewis, Natalie, Wade, Emily, Lydia, Meredith, Meghan and Mitchell; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Kathleen & Joe Swindell; his beloved dog, Luther and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Joe and Lee Bury. Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
