Bob Sample

SAMPLE, Charles R. (Bob), 85, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in Forest Glen. He was born November 21, 1940, in Fairborn, OH, the son of the late Loretta (Bryant) Sample. Bob worked as a manager at Navistar for 43 years. He was a past member of Northwood Hills Country Club and a current member at the B.P.O.E. 51. He never met a stranger - only friends he hadn't greeted yet. Whether he was keeping everyone's beer mug full from his signature sterling silver pitcher or laughing so hard he couldn't finish his own joke, he made every gathering brighter and left people with stories they'll never forget. Survivors include his wife, Kathy (Finnegan) Sample; two daughters, Suzanne (John) Meismer and Beth (Bob) Nolette; two stepdaughters, Jamie (Jeff LaFramboise) Flax and Mandy (Robb) Christenson; ten grandchildren, Madison (Kyle) Boszor, Jack Meismer, Elizabeth Mitchell, Dani (Hayden) Hessler, J.P. Nolette, Alexandra, Matthew and Charlotte Sample, Evan Platfoot and Cruz Christenson and his two pets, Otis and Ozzie. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert J. Sample and his brother, Richard Sample. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 15 at 4:00 p.m. at O’Conners Irish Pub. Arrangements by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
