Harris Stickford, Carey Michelle, age 49, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Carey was a deeply loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, nurse, and friend whose kindness touched countless lives. She devoted her life to caring for others, both through her work as a nurse and through the unconditional love she gave so freely to everyone around her. Carey had the kindest heart and would do absolutely anything to help someone in need. She made everyone feel welcomed, loved, and important.
She was known for her wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and the way she could make anyone laugh even during difficult times. Carey brought joy wherever she went and had a beautiful way of lifting the spirits of everyone around her. To know her was to love her.
Outside of caring for others, Carey loved raising chickens and spending time with the people she loved most. Her greatest pride and joy was her family. She was the best mom and grandma bawk bawk anyone could ever ask for, and the love she gave her children and grandchildren will remain with them forever.
Carey is survived by her husband, James Stickford; her loving daughter, Lillian Brown and son-in-law, Steven Brown; her beloved grandchildren, Ameila Brown and Weston Brown; her loving son, Joshua Harris and fiancé, Nova Barone; her loving daughter, Josephine Harris; her mother, Linda Pauley; her bonus dad, Chuck Pauley; her father, William Lilley; bonus mom, Dawn Lilley; her brother, Christopher Pauley, and sister-in-law, Zarina Pauley; her nephew, Isaac Pauley; stepchildren, Luke James (Hannah) Stickford, Arielle Stickford, Mark Joel (Kaitlin) Stickford, Valerie Matson, Victoria Lynn (Matt) Yocom; step grandchildren, Everet Stickford, Eloise Stickford and Levi Matson; one sister in law, Jeanie Stickford; and step nieces and nephews, Sara (Turner) Dittrich, Ashley (Chris) Mangen, Sam Dittrich and Austin Dittrich.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kaylie Harris; and her loving grandparents, Roy Storer and Patricia Storer, Joseph Lilley and Betty Lilley.
Carey’s love, laughter, strength, and compassion will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She touched so many lives in such a beautiful way, and the world is brighter for having had her in it. Though her family’s hearts are broken, they find comfort knowing her love will remain with them always.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
