History
Conroy Funeral Home opened its doors in November of 1955. John J. Conroy, who had been associated with his father in law, George J. Degenhart, in the Degenhart-Conroy Funeral Home, decided to open his own funeral home shortly after the death of Mr. Degenhart. He, along with his wife, Mary Jean (Degenhart) bought the property at its present location and physically refurbished the building to accommodate the workings of a funeral home. Slowly the business grew. Together they took an idea and with many long hours and the help and loyalty of many friends built it into a caring and viable business. Today, the funeral home is run by his son Jack Conroy, his grandson Kyle Conroy and business associates John P. Vollmer, who has been with the firm since 1970, and Robert Webster who has been with the firm since 1995. It serves all religious denominations in every aspect of funeral service, from traditional funeral service and burial to cremation and prearrangement.
